The Role
We’re hiring the most senior leader in Spain, reporting to the COO, to own market performance end-to-end: operational excellence, growth, and P&L outcomes. You’ll shape and improve our physical operations (fleet, workshop, retail), lead a hands-on team on the ground, and drive pragmatic growth initiatives (pricing, channels, partnerships) to build demand. This role requires an entrepreneurial operator with strong ownership, comfortable both running day-to-day operations and identifying opportunities to improve and grow the business.
This person will own the Spanish market performance across business outcomes: operational excellence, unit economics, customer experience and growth. This is a hands-on, on-the-ground leadership role. You can expect to:
- Drive local growth strategy: identify demand constraints and run pragmatic tests (pricing, offers, channels, local partnerships) with clear measurement.
- Stabilise and scale core operations (workshop + retail + fleet logistics). Expand capacity thoughtfully as demand grows, ensuring process discipline and cost control.
- Deliver excellent B2B operations (SLA, onboarding, servicing, reporting) while maintaining focus on B2C growth (majority of the business).
- Own P&L rhythm for Spain: budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and trade-offs that protect unit economics while enabling growth.
- Hire, coach, and performance-manage a high-accountability frontline team; develop 1-2 strong leads to strengthen local leadership depth.
- Lead safety initiatives and programs to ensure we continue to keep customers and employees safe at scale.
- Own the weekly operating cadence and core KPIs for Spain. Ensure pragmatic processes that keep the operation in control are implemented and digested by the team.
- Create a high-performance culture: clear ownership, measurable goals, fast problem-solving, and strong talent development.
- Act as the senior leader in Spain, partnering with central functions (Ops, Growth, Finance, Revenue, Tech, People) to set priorities, ensure support and deliver results.
- Handle local ‘GM admin’ with limited support: vendors, facilities topics, contracts coordination, and operational bureaucracy - solve problems end-to-end.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing frontline operations in a fast-paced, physical environment (last-mile, mobility, retail ops, field services, logistics).
- Proven track record improving measurable outcomes (throughput, quality, cost, availability, customer metrics) via hands-on leadership and process discipline.
- You have hired and led frontline teams; comfortable with performance management and raising the bar in junior teams.
- You are an entrepreneurial operator with a high-ownership mindset who thrives in ambiguous, decentralised international environments, proactively building solutions and driving impact without the need for constant direction.
- You have a bias for action and experimentation: identify levers, run tests (incl. pricing/channel changes), measure impact, iterates fast. Comfortable switching between floor-level detail (workshop/retail) and business planning (forecasting, stakeholder updates).
- Basic P&L experience: has managed or strongly influenced revenue and cost lines; can budget/forecast and make trade-offs.
- Comfortable handling administrative complexity and operational bureaucracy; can coordinate vendors/contracts/facilities issues end-to-end.
- Experience in a scale-up or transformation environment with ambiguity and limited structure; can build order without heavy support.
- Humility is something that comes naturally to you. You’re a born collaborator and you care about getting to the right answer more than who came up with it.
