The salary range for this role is $115,000-$120,000
Job Description
- Consult with customers and compliance agencies to discuss project scope and management, technical issues, and explanation of procedures and requirements
- Schedule and conduct audits of product or quality systems, produce audit reports and conduct follow up evaluations on corrections actions which address non-compliance concerns
- Perform tests for certification of equipment to applicable domestic or international codes and standards and regulatory compliance regulations; advises customers of non-compliance
- Drafts test and inspection plans to certify materials and pressure equipment products
- Evaluates mechanical test results of materials, inspects materials to verify compliance
- Certifies materials, parts and components to applicable equipment codes
- Witnesses welder’s performance tests and welding procedure qualifications, evaluates non-destructive and destructive test results and certifies personnel and procedures
- Provide support in the identification of the most appropriate conformity assessment procedures
- Review and evaluate product documentation; validate that the product meets the certification criteria and issues certification decisions following the guidelines of the Certification Body
- Prepare test reports, confirming compliance or non-compliance, communicate results to customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge, of conformity assessment programs related to industry.
- In depth knowledge of European Directives such as PED, ATEX, SPVD, and TPED preferred
- In depth knowledge of EN, DIN and ISO standards preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, solid technical writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers.
- Strong engineering knowledge, understanding of testing requirements, manufacturing processes, drawings and standards.
- Knowledge of mechanical and chemical material testing basics
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and diagrams
- Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to travel. Valid driver’s license and passport required.
Work Experience
- Current or previous PED 2014/68/EU Authorizations with a Notified Body which includes QMS and Production Modules, Welding Certification Services, Material certifications.
- Minimum five years related workplace experience (1-2 years preferred with a Notified Body)
- Experience in pressure equipment approvals according to European and other International codes and standards
- Experience in welding technologies and approvals
- Experienced in Third Party Inspections and project management
- Good communication, customer relations and project management skills
- Computer literacy required including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications, lotus notes, Excel and SAP
Certifications
- Authorized Inspector according to NBBI / ASME - A Endorsement (preferred)
- CWI, engineering/technician degree in welding (preferred)
- Auditor or Lead Auditor (e.g. RAB/TUV Cert. preferred)
