About the role
R&D Europe is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing vehicle testing and validation activities across all European markets. The team supports development vehicles (VP and TT), pre-production vehicles (PP), and PTD vehicles throughout the entire vehicle development lifecycle, from early development to post-launch validation, ensuring product quality and compliance across Europe.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Infotainment System Dynamic Test Intern to support vehicle road testing and validation activities for intelligent vehicle infotainment systems. The intern will participate in real driving scenarios to evaluate infotainment system performance, identify potential issues, perform initial analysis, and provide high-quality feedback to support product improvement and software optimization.
This position provides hands-on experience in automotive dynamic testing, intelligent cockpit validation, and vehicle software quality evaluation.
Your responsibilities
- Test Planning: Support the development of detailed vehicle road test plans based on project requirements and test scenarios. Assist in planning test routes, coordinating testing activities, and preparing phase-specific test schedules to ensure adequate coverage of validation scenarios.
- Dynamic Test Execution: Participate in real-world vehicle road testing to validate Infotainment System functions, including Navigation, Radio, Multimedia, Bluetooth, and Connected Services. Support test execution by operating professional data acquisition tools and software (e.g., CANoe, DSA, ADB, Vcarsystem) to collect, organize, and document test data. Assist in regression testing after software updates or issue fixes.
- Issue Analysis & Validation: Identify and reproduce issues observed during dynamic testing. Perform preliminary analysis based on test results, logs, and collected data, and prepare structured defect reports with sufficient supporting evidence.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D Software Technology and QRT team to support issue investigation, function optimization, and verification activities, contributing to the continuous improvement of Infotainment system quality and user experience.
What you bring along
Education
- Currently pursing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields
Professional Experience
- Previous internship, academic project, or hands-on experience in automotive electronics, software testing, or intelligent cockpit systems is beneficial
- Basic understanding of vehicle road testing or software validation is an advantage
- Experience with navigation systems, infotainment systems, connected services, or multimedia applications is preferred
Knowledge / Functional Expertise
- Basic knowledge of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems and intelligent cockpit functions
- Understanding of navigation, radio, multimedia, Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity, and connected vehicle services
- Familiarity with software testing principles, defect reporting, and test documentation
- Basic knowledge of Android, ADB, log collection, or automotive diagnostic tools is a plus
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dynamic road testing of Infotainment systems under real driving conditions
- Validate infotainment functions, including navigation, radio, multimedia, and connected services
- Travel extensively to test locations across Europe to support vehicle validation activities under diverse road, traffic, environmental, and network conditions
- Observe system behavior during vehicle operation and identify functional abnormalities or unexpected system behavior
- Perform preliminary analysis of issues, reproduce defects when necessary, and provide clear and structured test reports
- Collect and organize supporting evidence, including logs, screenshots, videos, and test records
- Collaborate with test engineers and project teams to support issue investigation, verification, and resolution

- Good written and spoken English; German and Chinese is considered an advantage
- Valid drive license is mandatory
