About the Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help design, automate and continuously improve secure and highly available cloud platforms.
You will focus on containerisation, Kubernetes orchestration, AWS infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation. Working with development, security, testing and operations teams, you will streamline software delivery and ensure that applications are designed for scalability, performance, security and operability.
The position offers the opportunity to work in a global, cross-functional environment, contributing to DevSecOps practices, cloud infrastructure, observability, deployment automation and the evolution of customer-facing digital platforms.
You will also act as a technical reference, helping development teams adopt effective DevOps practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering standards.
Main Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure and Automation
- Design, provision and manage scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Apply Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform.
- Build and maintain reusable infrastructure modules and automated provisioning processes.
- Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes environments.
- Support microservices and decoupled or composable architectures.
- Ensure cloud platforms meet availability, security, scalability, performance and operability requirements.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates and secure communications.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, deployment and platform issues.
CI/CD and Software Delivery
- Automate the integration and deployment of developed products and solutions.
- Collaborate with the DevSecOps team to build, enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD to automate build, testing and deployment processes.
- Support production deployments and improve release reliability.
- Partner with Test Automation Engineers to create and optimise dedicated testing pipelines.
- Work with Git workflows and branching strategies.
- Use Argo CD and GitOps practices to manage application deployments.
- Package and deploy applications with Helm.
- Support monorepo-based delivery workflows where applicable.
- Integrate JFrog into artifact-management and software-delivery processes.
- Use Jenkins Groovy scripting when required.
Security, Quality and Reliability
- Work with development teams to ensure that applications are secure, scalable, performant and supportable.
- Collaborate with security teams to embed DevSecOps controls into delivery pipelines.
- Support code-quality and security analysis using SonarQube and Checkmarx.
- Apply security best practices across cloud infrastructure, containers and pipelines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Istio service mesh configurations.
- Identify reliability and performance risks before production deployment.
- Recommend improvements based on platform and application evaluations.
Monitoring and Operational Support
- Configure and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting solutions.
- Monitor application performance and infrastructure health.
- Use Datadog or comparable observability platforms to investigate incidents and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications and infrastructure in production.
- Analyse Linux logs, processes, resource consumption and service behaviour.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical and operational documentation.
- Contribute to performance optimisation and platform stability.
- Support messaging solutions such as RabbitMQ or Amazon MQ when required.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with multinational development, security, QA and operations teams.
- Mentor development teams in DevOps tools, processes and practices.
- Promote automation, repeatability and continuous improvement.
- Share technical knowledge and contribute to engineering standards.
- Participate in Agile and Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
Mandatory Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong experience building, automating and deploying software into production environments.
- Practical experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience with decoupled or composable architectures.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Advanced practical experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Practical knowledge of Helm.
- Experience with Argo CD and GitOps deployment practices.
- Knowledge of Istio or comparable service mesh technologies.
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Practical experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with Git workflows.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Bash operations and scripting.
- Practical knowledge of commands and tools such as sed, awk and grep.
- Strong Python scripting skills.
- Experience working with SQL databases.

The Ideal Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer with at least five years of experience building, automating and supporting cloud-native production environments.
You have strong practical experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Python and CI/CD. You understand how to build secure and repeatable delivery pipelines and how to operate microservices across scalable cloud infrastructure.
You are comfortable using Argo CD, Helm, Istio and JFrog, and you can investigate complex issues across applications, containers, pipelines and infrastructure. You also understand monitoring, logging, SSL/TLS and production-readiness requirements.
Beyond technical delivery, you communicate confidently in English, collaborate effectively with international teams and enjoy mentoring developers in DevOps practices. You are available to attend the Lisbon or Porto office once per month.
