Partnership Manager - Interim

Better Shelter is looking for an interim Partnerships Manager to help us build strong, trusted partnerships with humanitarian organisations around the world.

We are looking for someone who can join us as soon as possible - ideally in October - on a temporary employment contract (full-time and initially work with us for 4 - 6 months).

There is a permanent position behind this interim need, so for the right person there may be an opportunity to continue longer term. For now, however, our priority is finding someone experienced who is available quickly and can step into the role for the coming months.

At Better Shelter, we work with humanitarian partners to provide safer and more dignified shelter for people affected by conflict and disaster. Partnerships are at the heart of how we work – and how we reach communities at scale.

As Partnerships Manager, you will manage and develop relationships with implementing partners in selected regions. You will be a key point of contact throughout the partnership – from early dialogue and agreements to implementation, follow-up and learning.

What you’ll do

You will:

• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with humanitarian partners
• Coordinate partnerships, projects and agreements from planning through implementation and follow-up
• Understand partner needs and make sure they are communicated and coordinated internally
• Monitor progress, reporting and agreed deliverables
• Identify new partnership opportunities and contribute insights from partners and the field
• Represent Better Shelter in meetings, networks and relevant humanitarian forums
• Help ensure partnerships meet organisational policies, donor requirements and humanitarian standards

Travel is an integral part of the role and may include travel to locations in or near areas of increased risk.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines strong relationship-building skills with structure, initiative and good judgement.

You should have experience working in an international environment and be comfortable collaborating across organisations, cultures and geographies. Experience from the humanitarian sector or working with humanitarian organisations is highly relevant.

You are fluent in spoken and written English; additional UN languages are an advantage.

Most importantly, you enjoy making partnerships work – building trust, solving problems and bringing different people and perspectives together around a common goal.

Location and way of working

Candidates must have the legal right to work in Sweden or the EU at the time of application.

Better Shelter is based at Telefonplan in Stockholm, and our normal way of working is to spend at least three out of five working days together at the office.

The position reports to the Head of Partnerships.

Salary and compensations according to agreement.
