You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
Join us in shaping the future of sustainable propulsion
Do you enjoy working at the intersection of technology, business, and engineering? Are you motivated by taking ownership of complex products and driving them from concept to release? If so, this role could be a great fit for you.
At Everllence, we are pioneers in advanced propulsion technologies. We develop the control systems behind the world’s largest two-stroke engines – systems that now support operation on carbon-neutral alternative fuels. Join us in our mission to move big things to zero.
About the Role
As Engine Software Package (ESP) Product Owner, you will own a new and critical product: a software package that bundles updates across our engine control systems and other onboard electronics, and is distributed to vessels via over-the-air updates. This role is newly created as we build out this capability. You will define priorities, balance requirements, and ensure high-quality and secure product releases. You will report directly to the Head of Automation and Control and have real influence on the product and how the role and its processes take shape.
The ESP product plays a critical role in the overall system architecture. It touches cyber security and operationally critical systems, so robustness, traceability, and controlled releases are essential, and you will ensure these are embedded throughout the product lifecycle.
A key part of the role is stakeholder management, bringing together different perspectives, ensuring alignment, and creating transparency across teams. You will act as a key interface to both internal stakeholders (sales and service) and external stakeholders such as engine builders and vessel owners, ensuring the product meets technical, operational, and cyber security requirements across the value chain.
You will have the opportunity to drive ideas and improvements that shape the future development of the ESP product, influencing both the solution and the processes around it.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a proactive and structured Product Owner who thrives in a complex environment and enjoys working closely with a wide range of stakeholders. You may have a technical background, but this is not a requirement. What matters most is that you are comfortable engaging with engineering teams and technical topics.
You are comfortable with stakeholder management and able to align both internal teams and external partners, including licensees, around shared priorities and goals. You take ownership of the product backlog, prioritize based on business value, and represents the needs of the end user. You are motivated by driving product development forward, through both successful releases and continuous improvement.
You have an understanding of software and system development processes, including structured ways of working (Agile, hybrid, or regulated). Familiarity with embedded systems, control systems, and cyber security environments is an advantage, as is knowledge of configuration, versioning, and release management principles.
Our Team Culture
We work in agile-inspired teams with strong collaboration and shared accountability. Our software and systems are designed with a focus on reliability, safety, and usability.
We value informal, open dialogue, and support personal development. You’ll be working with skilled and motivated colleagues who are happy to share knowledge and learn from you. Our team includes people of many nationalities, and we foster a workplace where everyone feels welcome and included.
