Senior Network Engineer
Gauting, Germany
You apply on the site where the job is posted. I never handle applications.
Why us?
You'll join a company where your work has visible impact from day one.
You'll work directly with world-class engineers, scientists, aerospace experts and entrepreneurs building technologies that have never existed before.
Every day you'll collaborate with people who genuinely believe Europe can lead the next generation of autonomous intelligence.
We're not maintaining legacy systems.
We're creating the infrastructure future generations will depend on.

If you're ready to build technology that could shape Europe for decades to come, we'd love to meet you.
Your mission
As a Senior Network Engineer focused on network management and security, you will own how nodes, whether airborne, ground-based or orbital, join the swarm, how they are configured and reconfigured over their lifetime, and how they prove their identity and protect their traffic without relying on a centralized authority.
You will build the control plane that distributes configuration and policy across the swarm, the pub/sub and
state-synchronization layer that keeps distributed data eventually consistent across network partitions, and the
zero-trust security model, including decentralized identity, key exchange and certificate lifecycle, that lets nodes
verify and authenticate each other in the field.
Your work is what turns a collection of individually secure nodes into a network that can be configured,
observed and trusted as a whole, even when it is fragmented for hours at a time.
Your profile
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Communications Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in distributed systems, network engineering or security engineering.
- Strong depth in at least one of the following, with working knowledge of the other: distributed systems and middleware (pub/sub, serialization, consensus, state synchronization), or applied security (cryptographic protocols, decentralized identity, key exchange, certificate lifecycle management).
- Advanced proficiency in C, C++ or Rust.
- Experience withLinux and embedded or resource-constrained environments.
- Strong analytical and systems engineering mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German language skills are a plus.
Nice to Have
- Conflict-free replicated data types (CRDTs) or comparable eventually-consistent data structures
- Byzantine fault-tolerant consensus protocols
- Noise protocol framework or comparable secure channel handshake design
- Hardware-backed security, such as secure boot, HSM or TPM
- Software-defined networking (SDN) controllers and policy engines
- Configuration management protocols and toolchains, such as NETCONF/YANG or gNMI
- Familiarity with IETF, IEEE or NATO STANAG communication standards, particularly in defense or dual-use contexts
About us
At NeuralAgent, we are building coordination and AI-Operating layer at edge that orchestrates the autonomous systems and networks across space, air, ground, maritime and underwater domains.
We believe the future will be powered by decentralized intelligence—where autonomous systems collaborate, make decisions and adapt in real time wherever the mission takes place.
