About Us
QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.
With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!
We are seeking a Senior Quantum Algorithm Expert to investigate, develop and translate quantum applications that solve real-world computational bottlenecks. In this role, you will be the key technical lead developing methodologies for mapping real-world use cases to quantum algorithms, resource estimating these applications, and building tools to automate these processes. You will work closely with Software Development, System Engineering, and Quantum Hardware teams to translate algorithmic requirements into real-world physical QPU specifications.
What you’ll be doing
- Application Development: Develop and validate quantum computing applications by mapping real-world enterprise use cases (e.g., in optimization, machine learning, and finance) to quantum algorithms with proven computational speedups.
- Resource Estimation: Develop frameworks to resource-estimate circuit execution, translating algorithms into fault-tolerant physical hardware requirements.
- Automation: Be the technical lead for application mapping and resource estimation automation, defining structure, logic, trade-offs. Collaborate closely with our Software Development teams on implementation.
- Hardware Interface: Collaborate closely with Quantum Hardware and Systems Engineering teams to understand hardware specifications and feed back hardware optimisations.
- Algorithms Research: Stay on top of academic and industry developments in quantum algorithms and quantum error correction implementations.
Your Profile
- Expertise: Deep expertise in quantum algorithms and resource estimation. Expertise in circuit compilation, quantum error correction/mitigation and noise modelling is highly preferred.
- Education: PhD in Quantum Computing, Computer Science or Quantum Information Science.
- Experience: 5+ years of post-degree research or industry experience in quantum algorithm / application development and resource estimation.
- Hardware affinity: Experience implementing quantum workflows on physical quantum hardware, or a close affinity to (superconducting) quantum hardware, as strong plus.
- Impact Mindset: A strong drive to move beyond purely theoretical algorithms and build practical quantum applications.
- Collaboration: You thrive in a collaborative environment and are comfortable taking ownership from day one.
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway. We know great candidates don't always follow a straight path, and we value diverse experience, perspectives, and ways of thinking. If this role excites you and you believe you can make an impact, we'd love to hear from you!
What We Offer:
