About the role
As a Certification Engineer, you enable Peblar to bring compliant and market-ready EV charging solutions to different markets. You take ownership of certification and product approval throughout the complete product lifecycle, starting in the concept phase and continuing through development, testing and final certification.
You identify which European, international and national standards apply to our products and translate them into clear technical requirements, test plans and certification strategies. Standards are not always straightforward. Requirements can be ambiguous, overlapping or difficult to apply to a new product. You assess these requirements, determine their practical impact and work with System Architects and Engineers to find solutions that support innovation while maintaining regulatory integrity.
Your scope covers safety, EMC, radio, metering, national approvals, installation requirements and grid codes. Because our chargers form part of a broader electrical ecosystem, you also consider how the product interacts with the grid, installation environment and applicable national requirements. Your key responsibilities are:
- Identify and interpret the European, international and national standards applicable to new and existing products
- Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into practical product requirements, test plans and certification strategies
- Take ownership of certification activities from the initial product concept through testing and final market approval
- Manage collaboration with certification bodies, test laboratories and relevant authorities
- Coordinate certification activities relating to product safety, EMC, radio, metering, installation requirements and grid codes
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including risk assessments, declarations, test reports and certification files
- Monitor changes in applicable standards and assess their impact on Peblar products and product roadmaps
- Work closely with System Architects, Hardware- and Software Engineers, and Compliance Specialists to identify certification risks early in the development process
- Participate in standardization working groups and contribute to the development of standards in an evolving industry What we offer
- Performance-based salary growth that rewards your results
- 33 vacation days per year, including public holidays
- Flexible working hours
- Time-for-time compensation when working extra hours
- Strong focus on personal development, supported by a tailored growth and learning plan
- Extensive career opportunities, with progression across a wide range of functions and projects
- A young, entrepreneurial, and innovative company culture where initiative is encouraged
- Free access to the company gym
- Free lunch, dinner and healthy snacks available every day on-site What you bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related technical field
- At least five years of relevant professional engineering experience
- Experience reading, interpreting and applying technical standards to electronic or electrical products
- Experience translating standards into clear requirements, test plans or certification strategies
- An understanding of product safety, EMC and radio requirements
- Sufficient electrical knowledge to understand product interaction with installations, electrical infrastructure and the grid
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to bring structure to complex, conflicting or unclear requirements
- A hands-on and pragmatic approach to solving technical compliance challenges
- Able to cooperate in an experienced technical team
- The ability to communicate complex technical subjects clearly to engineers, architects, test laboratories, certification bodies and authorities
- Accuracy in preparing and maintaining traceable technical and certification documentation
- A genuine interest in standards and standardization
- The ownership and motivation to drive complex topics from initial assessment through to final approval
