The impact you’ll make
As the Platform Engineering Lead, you will build and operate the foundational platform that enables AI agents, automation services, developers, and operations teams to innovate safely and at scale. You will create the self-service capabilities, golden paths, deployment standards, and runtime environments that allow intelligent automation to become a core capability across Lam.
Your work will accelerate software delivery, improve reliability, reduce operational friction, and establish the technology foundation for Agentic IT Operations.
What you’ll do
- Lead the design and implementation of Lam's Agent Platform and Internal Developer Platform.
- Build and operate the cloud-native infrastructure supporting AI agents and automation services.
- Establish platform engineering standards, reusable templates, golden paths, and self-service capabilities.
- Implement GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, policy-as-code, and secure software delivery practices.
- Design deployment pipelines, observability standards, operational controls, and runtime governance.
- Partner with architects, SRE teams, and application teams to onboard services onto the platform.
- Define scalability, reliability, and resiliency requirements for enterprise automation workloads.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native engineering practices across the organization.
- Mentor engineers and build platform engineering excellence. Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline with 12+ years of related experience or 8+ years with a Master's degree or +5 years with a PhD or equivalant experience
- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or software engineering.
- Experience building and operating Kubernetes-based platforms in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices.
- Experience operating mission-critical cloud services at scale.
- Strong troubleshooting and systems engineering skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs).
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or agent-based workloads.
- Experience with GitOps and platform product management.
- Knowledge of SRE principles including SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets.
- Experience with multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Industry certifications in Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, or cloud-native technologies. Core Competencies

This position will be occupied in Villach. It is subject to the for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry for Employees in the Metal Technology Industry in occupation group G, depending on Education. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills. The monthly salary is paid 14 times per year.
