Introduction to the job
As a Factory Preparation Competence Engineer you'll work on introducing new facility designs for (new) factories, helping us to deliver on time and with high quality. Next to that you will help customers prepare for EUV, by reviewing and delivering technical documentation.
Once in a time you enjoy visiting a customer site to deliver knowledge transfers, solve technical issues, and bring the best known methods globally to local teams. Sometimes you'll act as second line [Production Engineer] support for infra and interconnects in the ASML factory.
The EUV Factory is responsible for the production and installation of EUV machines. New products from D&E are transferred to the factor for volume-production and continuously optimized before they are shipped to the customer for install.
Within the department EUV install, The Factory Preparation Engineering (FPE) team assures during New Product Introduction (NPI) that the work preparation is done to prepare the customer sites and our own factory for a flawless installation and qualification of systems and after FPE NPI drives continuous improvements for facilities and pre-install.
Role and responsibilities
As an engineer in FPE you will be part of a center of technical excellence influencing design decisions made by D&E to secure factory preparation and reviewing the outcomes for content and quality. To execute the preparation you will define and influence processes and tooling to secure volume factory preparation.
You will create, release and maintain the HVM Pre Install Package which includes:
- Installation Requirements Manual
- Pre-Install Manual
- Utility Data Sheets
- Some technical Drawings
At the customer site you will present on-line /on-site to customers and local Customer Support offices the detail of new or updated Pre-install Packages, Support pre-install execution by local Customer Support offices / ASML factory with your expertise
To secure the quality and completeness of the preparation you will audit the customer factory preparations before arrival of a new system type or platform and Initiate improvement proposals based on customer/ASML fab experience.
Dependent on the phase of the process you may be required to review and write procedures, sequences and checklists for the interconnect materials and act as second line [Production Engineer] support for infra and interconnects in our Veldhoven ASML factory.

Education and experience
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a study with project management and technical disciplines combined, like Industrial Engineering and design.
- 3-5 years technical experience in an engineering role, preferably with customer exposure.
