SAP MDG Functional Architect

We're looking for an SAP MDG Functional Architect to join our team in Spain in a remote working mode. In this role, you will lead the functional design and governance of SAP MDG solutions, ensuring alignment with business transformation objectives and SAP governance principles. You will define future-state master data processes, establish governance frameworks, oversee MDG domain configurations and support integration scenarios across a global enterprise landscape.

This position requires deep expertise in SAP MDG functional architecture and strong process knowledge, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable governance solutions that drive data quality, compliance and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate future-state master data governance processes across MDG domains
• Ensure proposed MDG solutions align with SAP Governance Principles and business requirements
• Lead process reengineering initiatives, defining workflows and data quality standards
• Provide overarching governance for SAP MDG solution design and architecture
• Oversee configurations for MDG domains such as customer, vendor and intercompany
• Guide integration scenarios ensuring clean, compliant data flows within SAP and connected systems
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technical teams and governance committees in multi-country environments
• Support SAP MDG project activities following agile delivery models and contribute to design authority discussions
• Advise on best practices for change management and master data process optimization

Requirements

• 10+ years of SAP MDG functional experience, including hands-on architecture and design
• Expertise in master data governance frameworks and process design (Customer, Vendor, Intercompany)
• Strong knowledge of data quality standards, governance workflows and integration practices
• Ability to translate business requirements into solution designs aligned with SAP MDG capabilities
• Familiarity with SAP integration scenarios across ERP systems and non-SAP applications
• Experience in agile delivery models (Scrum) and working in multi-vendor, multi-country environments
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills for client-facing roles

Nice to have

• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements for master data governance
• Experience with organizational change management (OCM) practices
• Familiarity with SAP BTP for MDG-related integrations and extensions
