As a Leading Hand at UPS Venlo you control and organize the daily operational activities of your team in a compliant, effective and efficient manner. Being the right-hand of the Team Leader, your focus areas are: team leadership, planning of the daily staff according to expected volumes and monitoring and steering your operation to ensure operational continuity. What do you do on an average day?
- Supervise your operation, specifically people and volume development for the day;
- Execute staff planning; ensure people with the right skills are identified and planned in appropriate shifts. This in order to process daily volumes in the most efficient manner. You are capable to define staffing back-up plans whenever needed (illness, etc.);
- Motivate your team through coaching, training and overall interest in the well-being of your people;
- Execute PCM meetings to inform your team on performance of previous day and plans for the current day; inform on any new company developments (news, initiatives, protocols, etc.);
- Seek and identify operational improvements and support their implementation;
- Execute periodical performance reviews with your staff in an effort to coach, develop people and support their growth within our Organization;
- Aerospace customers are highly quality focused; therefore you will be involved in work instruction improvements & reviews and quality processes above volumes
- Over time, you will be trained by UPS and the customer to become an ODA Unit member (Organization Designation Authorization); you are authorized to perform tasks on behalf of the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration).
What do we expect of you?
- MBO-level education (secondary vocational education) or equivalent;
- Relevant experience within the logistics or warehouse industry;
- Good command of the English language, both spoken and written. Additional language skills are a plus;
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage a team;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure;
- Flexible attitude regarding working hours and shifts;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

- A competitive salary starting at €3,000 gross per month, depending on experience.
