Junior Designer, Packaging
Bang & Olufsen · Struer, Denmark
You apply on the site where the job is posted. I never handle applications.
Sounds like your next design challenge starts here!
At Bang & Olufsen, every detail matters, from the products we create to the way they are first experienced. Are you curious about how thoughtful packaging can bring together design, function, sustainability, and brand? Do you want to help shape the first physical touchpoint of products enjoyed by customers around the world?
As a Junior Designer, you will join Bang & Olufsen’s Design Team, working primarily from either our Lyngby studio or our headquarters in Struer. You will become part of a small, collaborative team where ideas are shared openly, craft is taken seriously, and every contribution helps shape the packaging experience across our product portfolio.
Working closely with Industrial Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Product Managers and suppliers, you will help create packaging that carries the same care, precision, and attention to detail as the products inside.
This is a chance to learn by doing, grow your design skills, and contribute to real product launches that become part of global customer experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of packaging concepts for new products - from early ideas and sketches to production-ready solutions.
- Translate concepts into tangible prototypes, using hands-on model making and testing to refine the unboxing experience, structural performance, and overall design quality.
- Create graphic artwork, layouts and print-ready files for packaging and supporting materials.
- Support maintenance and updates of existing packaging solutions across the product portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance design intent, engineering requirements, manufacturing constraints and sustainability ambitions.
- Conduct research into packaging trends, materials and customer experience to help inspire future design directions.
- Help maintain and evolve Bang & Olufsen's packaging design language and visual consistency across the portfolio.
What you bring
We're looking for someone at the beginning of their design career, eager to learn, curious by nature, and excited about creating premium packaging experiences.
You likely hold a Master's degree in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design or a related design discipline.
Moreover, you bring:
- A strong interest in both structural and graphic packaging design.
- The ability to move seamlessly between creative concept development and practical execution.
- A passion for materials is essential. You should have an understanding of packaging materials, finishes, and construction, with an eye for detail.
- Experience working in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Confidence in creating presentations, artwork and physical mock-ups.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while keeping projects moving forward.
- A collaborative mindset and the confidence to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Experience with packaging production, print processes, sustainability, CAD, or 3D visualisation is beneficial, but we're open to candidates with different backgrounds and transferable skills.
What we offer
At Bang & Olufsen, packaging is considered an essential part of the overall product experience - not simply something that protects the product. From the first impression to unboxing and long-term ownership, we design every touchpoint with the same care and attention as the product itself.
As a Junior Designer, you'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues while taking ownership of your own projects and helping shape packaging solutions for products enjoyed by customers around the world.
