Swimming Coach for Adults – Aqua Hero Amsterdam
Aqua Hero · Amsterdam, Netherlands
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
Aqua Hero is a small and fast-growing swimming school in Amsterdam, focused exclusively on teaching adults.
We help adults learn, rebuild, and improve their swimming, from complete beginners with fear of water to swimmers who want better technique, endurance, confidence, or deep-water comfort.
This role is a good fit if you have a strong swimming background and enjoy helping people understand the water step by step.
Many of our students come with fear, frustration, or years of avoiding swimming, so the job requires empathy, structure, patience, and clear communication, not only swimming ability.
What you’ll do
- Teach small adult group swimming classes
- Help students with breathing, floating, coordination, deep-water confidence, and stroke technique
- Work with different levels, from complete beginners to intermediate and advanced swimmers
- Follow the Aqua Hero teaching method and lesson structure
- Give clear, calm, and useful feedback
- Track student progress and communicate with the team when needed
- Help adults feel safe, supported, and challenged in the right way
Who we’re looking for
- A strong swimming background, ideally from competitive swimming, water polo, artistic swimming, lifeguarding, or other aquatic sports
- Teaching or coaching experience, especially with adults, is a plus
- Comfortable teaching fully in English
- Knowledge of other languages is an advantage
- Patient and confident with adult beginners
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Open to learning our method and developing as a coach
- Available evenings and/or weekends in Amsterdam Area
Good to know
- We work only with adults
- Classes are small, usually maximum 4–5 students
- Training and teaching materials are provided
- This is a part-time role
- Locations are in Amsterdam
- We provide structure, feedback, and support, but you need to be open to learning and growing as a coach
This role might be right for you if
- You enjoy teaching people step by step
- You are calm and patient with nervous or beginner students
- You care about technique, safety, and progress
- You want to grow as a coach, not just teach random swimming hours
- You like working in a small team with clear standards
This might not be the right role if
You are only looking for a quick side gig.
Our students need consistency, patience, and coaches who care about the learning process. Many of them are adults who finally decided to face something difficult, so the way we teach really matters.
We look forward to hearing from you.
