Administrative Assistant — Internship
TENNANT SALES & SERVICES · Agualva-Cacém, Portugal
You apply off-site, with the employer or the job board. I never handle applications.
Are you looking to start your administrative career in a solid, international company that is a leader in its industry? If you are a student ready to gain real hands-on experience in a multinational environment, this internship could be the opportunity for you.
Tennant is a global leader in industrial cleaning solutions, and we are looking for an Administrative Assistant Intern to join our team in Agualva-Cacém, Portugal. You will work alongside an experienced team and play a hands-on role in contract management, customer administration, and service operations — learning how a multinational runs its day-to-day administrative processes.
What you will learn and do
Contract management
- Help create and maintain rental contracts for equipment and machines.
- Support the management of contract documentation and annual contract records.
- Assist in preparing and sending completed contracts, monthly fees, and summarized addendums.
- Support the opening and closing of rental services and contracts.
Customer & data administration
- Update equipment and customer information within SAP and internal systems.
- Help create and maintain customer accounts, including Sold-to and Ship-to records.
- Provide administrative support to customers and internal stakeholders.
Service operations support
- Support the creation and management of Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans.
- Help open and manage service requests and administrative cases.
- Support operational, service, and commercial teams with day-to-day administrative activities.

Skills & competencies
- Problem-solving mindset with a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas and actively listen.

Nice to have
- Familiarity with SAP.
- Interest in industrial, manufacturing, or service-related environments.

What we offer
- A structured internship in a stable, established multinational — a market leader, not a startup.
- Real, hands-on tasks and mentorship from an experienced international team, not just observation.
- Exposure to core business tools (SAP, internal systems) and to how a global organization manages contracts, customers, and service operations.
- A strong first line on your CV and a real professional network in an international company.
