Technical Project Manager – Data Centre Transformation | Banking | Amsterdam
Lead a high-profile new EU Data Centre programme from initiation through design, build and operational handover. This is an opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager to shape a major infrastructure investment within a highly regulated financial services environment, working directly with senior IT leadership, architects, engineering teams and external partners.

- Work across Infrastructure, Cloud, Architecture, Cyber Recovery and Information Security
- High visibility with C-Level and senior IT stakeholders
About the Role
As Technical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the initiation phase of a major Data Centre transformation programme. You’ll be responsible for turning business and technical requirements into a structured delivery plan and establishing the foundations for successful execution.
Your focus will include:
- Developing the business case and investment proposal for the new Data Centre and establishing the project charter, scope, schedule and delivery roadmap.
- Working closely with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure & Platform Engineering, Information Security, Risk and senior IT leadership to shape the technical solution and high-level concept design.
- Managing vendors, contractors, risks and dependencies while providing clear project reporting and executive-level updates.
The role offers significant exposure to Data Centre transformation, IT resilience, disaster recovery, cloud and enterprise infrastructure within a global financial services environment.
The position is based in Amsterdam, with a minimum of 3 days onsite per week. Limited travel may be required, and occasional work outside standard business hours may be necessary.
Key Outcomes
You’ll be expected to:
- Develop the Business Case / Investment Proposal for the new Data Centre.
- Establish the Business & Technical Requirements Matrix.
- Deliver the Project Charter and Project Plan.
- Coordinate the High-Level Concept Design with the Domain Architect.
- Support Data Centre feasibility assessments and site surveys.
- Contribute to the Enterprise Cyber Recovery Strategy.
- Drive collaboration across architecture, engineering, security, risk and IT leadership.
About You
- 7-10+ years of Technical Project Management experience, including large-scale enterprise IT infrastructure deployments.
- Proven experience delivering Data Centre transformation, infrastructure or construction-related programmes.
- Experience working within banking or highly regulated financial services environments.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, Data Centre architecture and Cloud environments.
- Knowledge of relevant frameworks including ISO 22237, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NIST/NIS2 and DORA.
- PMP, PRINCE2 and/or Agile Scrum certification is mandatory.
- CDCDP certification is highly desirable; ITIL Practitioner is advantageous.
- Confident engaging with C-Level stakeholders, senior leadership, architects, engineers and external vendors.
- Comfortable working within a global matrix organisation.
- Strong experience with JIRA, MS Project and hybrid Agile/Waterfall delivery methods.
